Hi, I am new here but I had an idea to run by everone...regarding the Chips

and Salsa. If you can have limited Whole Wheat Tortilas in Phase 2, why not

take two, cut them and bake them in the oven @350 for about 20 - 30

minutes...or until they are crisp enough for you? As for the salsa, I make

canned salsa every year and in the winter I use fresh made from store bought

produce. All I do is cut (or use a low powered food processor - my

favorite is hand powered) Tomatoes, onlions, green peppers and, if wanted,

a fresh chili pepper. (I am allregic to Jalapenios.) Mix together with

Cilantro and let sit 30 mintues. This lets the flavors blend well.

You can use this salsa for a dressing on eggs, even in Phase 1. It also

makes good veggy dip. This is basically the same recipe I use for my canned

salsa as well. It may change a bit from year to year, but I have never used

sugar or a sugar substitute in it. The major change from year to year is

the " heat " depending on the peppers I grow or use.
