Wakefield responds- CBS 60 Minutes II

Just for the record, although I am sure you are aware of this, they got my

name right.

I received no payment from anyone for the Lancet study. A grant was made for

a separate study to examine for the presence of measles virus protein in the

diseased intestine of affected children. The grant paid the salary and

reagent costs for the technical aspects of this study. I received nothing

for my contribution. When the paper is eventually published, the Legal Aid

Board will be acknowledged as the source of the funding.

I have never told parents not vaccinate against measles, as was stated by 60

minutes. This statement alone has major implications. I have contacted CBS

and demanded an urgent response.
