I am 37 Years old, I have two kids ages 13 and 8, I have been married for almost 15 years, I am not sure exactly what I weigh as I don't trust my antiquated scale...but...I started South Beach on Dec. 5 2005 and have lost a total of 19.0 inches since then. I had started a much stricter regimen the week before (I lasted 6 days) that was a no salt, no fat, no sugar, no bread, no dairy diet...I mean what is left to eat? Egg whites and Chicken and veggies...boy did I get sick of egg whites!! It actually had me eating fruit, white potatoes, and white rice!!! I read through the whole thing hoping to know when I could have a piece of cheese and I couldn't seem to find a time when that would be okay....it mentioned a crazy day thing where after reaching target weight you could have one day a week where you eat whatever you want, but I knew myself...I would never be able to stay on such a restrictive plan. So when I read through the South Beach diet book...I thought FREEDOM!!!! I love to cook and I love that this is food my family could eat as well and not have to cook two meals!!!
