Guest guest
Debie: I am pre-band (until May 21) and I have been suffering from acid reflux disease for just over a year now. Currently it is really bad. I talked recently to Dr. Rumbaut about it. I also have a small hiatus hernia, and he said that the surgery would probably correct both of these problems. He said that the surgery was an anti-reflux procedure. Have you have this problem since the operation or did you also have it before? Dear Debie, Thanks for the explanation, I thought I was the only one who had this. I think it is very scarry as I wake up choking. I have never mentioned it to my doctor, I guess I will. Wow, lots going on with the Bandsters, Congratualtions to everyone who has just returned from Mexico I wish you every success. I had another .5ml put in my band on Friday AND, he hit the port on the first go. I told my Dr. that everyone else on my list always reports easy fills and I think he took it as a challange. Whatever. I have lost about .6 of a pound per week since having the band 10 and a half months ago which is not a success story to me. We have agreed that my band is sited too high, and that rather than forming a stomach pouch I have an esophogeal pouch which is why I have this Whoosh feeling and suddenly everthing goes through the band, I also have at times a very strong pulsing feeling of food being forced through the band. Does anyone else have this ?? It is thought that in time I should form a normal stomach pouch until then we will slowly increase the fill of the band until either I am eating less or can't swallow. Anything for some success !!! Helen, hang in there, I can't believe what you are going through. I can only say that you are the strong one here and try to forgive your mother if you can. It may set you free. Best of luck to everyone on the sprial down next week. Suzanne
