PCA Oral chelation spray

Has anyone tried the PCA oral spray for chelation? We are trying to

work on my daughter taking pills, but it is very difficult right

now. My DAN doctor suggested I try this PCA oral spray for 8 weeks

every day and then take a urine test to see if more metals are coming

out. Haven't heard much about it, or seen anything on this listserv

about it.

Thanks, Marlowe

People from time to time do come in and ask about this or some other spray. Most

of these type of products are not chelators or have a small amount of a

chelation substance in them.

Hopefully you are asking before actually ordering one?

If you believe your child has a mercury detox problem get a DDI hair elements

test, and find out as much as you can about real chelators. Andy Cutler has

developed DDI hair elements test counting rules to help you look at hair test

results to see if mercury chelation may be worth considering.

Andy has developed responsible mercury detox protocols using ALA, DMSA, DMPS.

Take a spin through this link to gain information on mercury and getting rid of

it the right proper way:

I checked out the PCA RX, as this is what DR wanted

to use for my son. It is very expensive, and I declined.

I ordered Andy's book instead!

I crush my son's pills & mix them into juice. If they taste awful you can

try adding some stevia or sugar and maybe some natural flavoring from the

health food store - flavorganics is a good brand. Some people have used

things like chocolate syrup, peanut butter, jelly, etc. You can also try

hiding the pills in soft foods like gum drops, bananas, or canned peaches.

If they'r enot small enough for that to work you can try breaking them into

small pieces - a pill cutter is good for this.

I would be concerned that the dose may not be frequent enough to be safe -

read up on Andy's protocol (usually giving a dose of chelator every 3-4

hours). 8 weeks straight also seems like a long time for a round. I don't

know anything about PCA though.

Good luck,

-Sara.

Based on a firends strong recommendation, I tried PCA instead of DMSA at

first. Wish I never had.

(I am treating myself. mind you.)

The first few months I got a little better but don't know if that was

becasue of the PCA of becasue I moved away from where I think I was getting

mercury expose.

Then I got WAY worse and almost died for several months until I got on DMSA.

I had to start the DMSA v e r y gradually, but my seizure like attacks

that I was having ever night, ceased after about 4 doses.

I wish I had never taken the PCA and gone straight to Andy's protocol. Also,

remember that there is ALA in the PCA, and I think (but am not sure)

chlorella). So....these things will most likely bemoving mercury around.

However, a mercury toxic friendof mine in her 70's used PCA until she got

her fillings out and said she thought it really helped her. Recently, she

admitted she ALSO thought that the PCA did not totally bind with the HG, but

did so to a degree.

I have a thought, but an uneducated one:

I think if one were not terribly poisoned and they took a squirt of PCA

every 4 hours , it might be better. I also think that if one took PCA along

with DMSA, it might be better. But these are totally uneducated thoughts

like I said.

I talked with Andy once and he told me that the PCA does not really work the

way they would like to think it does, but never explained his reasoning. I

would be really interested in knowing.....

So there you have my 2 bits!

Actually on their website they do mention some sort of percentage

ratio-- most goes into the stool but some goes into the urine.
