Guest guest
I took 3 weeks off - should have taken at least 4 (until the wires were snipped), but I was bored and wanted to get back in my normal routine. I felt like myself after about 2 weeks, but just low energy. > how much time off from work did you guys take after surgery?
Guest guest
Believe it or not, Dan, that's a good thing to do as long as you don't OVERDO it. Happy healing, Smooches Re: work I'm only like Day 6 or so post op, and I only plan to be gone for 2 weeks. I don't think ill be quite ready, but ill try and make due. Guest guest
Everyone is different, ask yourself some of these questions: -how much standing/lifting/bending over do you do in your work -how much talking? to coworkers, to patients/clients/etc -will you be able to take breaks every few hours to " eat " will you have a semi private place to do this, you may not feel comfortable eating in a caffeteria setting -can you go back part time for awhile -can someone else do your job will it be coworkers, or does your employer have to find temp help these are just a few things that will effect how long you should be off work. I took 4 weeks and wished I had stayed off 6, others were ready at 2 weeks. Better to plan longer, most employers would rather have you come back early than have to scramble to replace you for a longer period of time when you can't come back when planned. It really depends on what you do. Suzy (R.Ph.) > how much time off from work did you guys take after surgery?
Guest guest
I just went back to work exactly 2 weeks after having my surgery. I worked about 5 hours today and then went home early because I just did not have any energy. That's my biggest issue. I'm sure its because I'm not eating as healthy as I normally do and also because my body is still healing. I'm hoping that I didn't overdo it by going back too early. We'll see.... > how much time off from work did you guys take after surgery?
Guest guest
Daen, this sounds like you ARE needed. I am so proud of you for speaking out on a subject that is very important. Having them do some publicity on you might be a way to get your Lupus into the story. We are SO in need of educating the public about our disease. That is one of the reasons we have so little respect. They just don't understand. Good luck and I am sure you will do great! Sunny --- " Dawn Marie Narup " but I wish I was needed. They also want to do some publicity on me. Oh I'm nervous, but I'll still do it, just to try to make a difference. > > Dawn Marie > >

Guest guest
They allow us to read books and listen to music. That's about it. My job is different from other as in there is ALWAYS downtime. I have no other duties. Bed Board used to have other duties but they took them away from us. I would say between 3 - 5 hours out of my 10 hour shift is spend with nothing to do. They say I can QA but I hate QA. That's why I left QA. Ugh! ! ! I get my work done and faster and better than the others if I do say so myself. My boss even received a letter of praise on me from a nursing supervisor. And this whole time, since I started here in April, I've been on earthlink.net checking my home e-mail when it's slow. All of the sudden, because of one nosey lady who walked in when I was listening to music on Windows Media Player, I am not allowed to touch anything related to the internet. I can do my work e-mail though thank God because I'd really be bored. I'll never understand why they don't worry about bigger things. They thing me checking e-mail is causing all the computers to be slow. PUH-LEASE! ! Whatever. They are going to lose me over this one day and I won't feel bad at all! Message: 19 Date: Tue, 24 Jan 2006 22:52:07 -0600 Subject: IRD/'s grandfather ~ It seems strange that some see a difference between just reading and reading emails !!!!! As long as you do your job...........which I KNOW you do !!!!!!! Some 'tattle-tales' !!!!!!!! AND I am praying for your grandfather and for your mother....those decisions are so hard to make. May God be with your mom and her sisters as they pray with your grandfather and make the decision they need to make. I know it's hard......I've been there. And at least you realize that one day you WILL see him again !!!! Hugs, Randie
