Just be careful, my mother sliced off the top of her thumb cutting one when I was a kid... it's hard to cut) I put it in a 9X13 baking dish & put the squash, cut side down, in a 400 degree oven for about 45-60 minutes. I must have read this online somewhere. I've never had trouble with it being watery. It's sooo good with a little smart balance spread & parmesean cheese... Method 2 i used this one I've never had a problem with it being watery either. I put about 1/4 cup of ff chicken broth in a shallow baking dish, place the squash halves one at a time face down, cover with saran and microwave for about 15 minutes. I probably could fit them both in the microwave but the only glass dish I have is too small. >Please send your recipes for inclusion in the Files to the Moderator at: >South-Beach-Diet-Getting-It-Right-owner > >Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Guest guest
I just cut mine in half & stick it in a 400 oven cut side down in a 9 x 13 dish, for about 45 mins to an hour... So good. -- ~Jenn -------------- Original message -------------- Okay I have never cooked one of these things but would like to try it. I eat like any and every vege but hubby does not usually go for squash so I just never bother. But if I can get him to eat this it would be great for me! So anywhoo all the recipes in the files section just say " cook with your favorite method " - so what methods can I use and how do I do this? If anyone has an oven prep I would prefer that - I only like to nuke what I have to.
