and a warm welcome to Teri and other new Bandsters !

Dear Teri,

I have had my band in Switzerland in December 1997. So far, I have

lost 52 lbs only. I am a very slow loser. I have another 50 lbs to

lose.

By the way, we have a chat appointment every Saturday, 2.00 pm your

time. I will post more details by the end of the week. You can also

see them in the Shared Files, in the Members Center of the Onelist site.

Thank you for your nice encouragement about my back pain. I know I

have listened to myself too much lately. So I have decided to kick

myself and I'm feeling better now.

I think that the doctors don't really know about any deterioration of

the band, because they don't have enough experience with long term

patients.

Dear Grace,

As far as I understand it, it seems that we have a 18-24 months window

of opportunity to lose weight with the band. My doctor told me that

the band can still work after that, anyway. It depends on what and

how you eat. He also told me that it's possible to gain a bit of

weight when the band stops working, too. Here again, they don't know

a lot because there is not enough long term patients yet.

And congratulations on your 12 kilos gone ! You're doing great !

I have jeopardised my health, funny enough the one thing I was trying to

improve....

You've had real bad luck, but you did well trying. You would have

regretted too if you hadn't tried it. I hope that what I mean goes

through " my " English. How was it today, with your tests ? How's

your recovery going ?

Dear Lois,

Is the doctor you see for the pain in your side the same doctor who put

the band ? If not, wouldn't it worth it having his opinion ?

And yes, as I said before, I have decided to stop sighing and start to

live again ! I am in better spirits, and I even called my doctor for

another fill. I will go and see him on Monday. Let's hope that

after that I will start and lose again ... Thank you all for your

support in my dark days !
