Guest guest
I just received the hair elements test results for myself and my two nt boys. Both of them are high in aluminum (17 and 20, ref <8) and mercury (1.4 and .84, ref <.4), and the younger is also high in lead (1.2, ref <1.0). By the way, I never immunized them thankfully - can't imagine what things would be like if I had done that! I'd appreciate any comments on these issues... I've read that Andy suggests removing the other metals first before removing mercury. So should I work on the aluminum first? There doesn't seem to be a sure way of removing alumimum (apple pectin sounds like a possibility) so it sounds like it could be a long process that may not work well. Or should I just aim for the mercury and hope the aluminum comes out too (I plan to use just LA)? What about the lead - will LA help with that? It's not nearly as high as the mercury, so I was thinking we'd work on the mercury first. I have all the supplements here ready to start chelation. How long should the boys be on the full dose of supplements before I start LA? My youngest still have yeast problems (actually they both do, but his is worse). Even being on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet for 11 months hasn't killed it off (although my youngest still nurses so he gets lactose to feed the yeast). Do I need to get it under control before starting with LA? Any ideas how? He cannot yet swallow capsules, and he has a low appetite which doesn't help (can't hide things). Andy recommends taking molybdenum prior to and during chelation so I started the boys in that yesterday. Their results today though show them to be very high in molybdenum (.36, .53, ref .05-.13) so I stopped that again today. I'm assuming I should not be giving that. My results show nothing out of the ordinary in terms of toxic metals and counting rules, although I have many minerals out of normal range (9 v.low, 2 v.high). I was assuming the boys got the mercury from me - so could I still have that mercury hiding even though things look ok from the counting rules standpoint? Thank you for any help! Guest guest
I think what Andy's referring to is that the other metals will (not necessarily " should " ) usually come out before the mercury. DMSA works for both mercury and lead. ALA works for mercury and arsenic. Also consider trying to identify and reduce/remove sources of exposure? Aluminum is added to city water supplies in the fluoridation process, also aluminum cans, and cookware, in baked goods from the baking powder (unless specifically aluminum-free).
