Just seeing who on this board uses ALA only to chelate their young

children. Is it safe to use ALA alone and why would one want to use

ALA only vs DMSA only or both together? YOu input is greatly

appreciated...

I used only ALA.

In my opinion, yes.

ALA supports the liver. ALA pulls metals from the brain.

DMSA is hard on the liver and kidneys. I do not have access to

medical testing, so I did not want to potentially cause problems and

have no way of testing for it.

The only problem I had with ALA was yeast, which I kept under control

with GSE until about round 50, when the yeast problem disappeared.

My son did not tolerate milk thistle until near the end of chelation,

so I did not use it for most of the process. And he did just fine

with just the ALA.

However, if your child tolerates milk thistle, I don't see why you

can't give it along with the ALA.
