Guest guest
JoAnne, I am going through this process w/ Liam at the moment. He has adequate titers to everything except polio. Interestingly, Dr. Hift says she has seen this happen w/ a lot of her patients too. St. 's requires a letter from the MD saying titers are OK and vaccines not needed, but the state may not accept this for DPT since there is no state guideline for acceptable DPT titers, even though there are for MMR. Since our ped is recommending a polio vaccine, we are going the religious exemption route. This link explains it and gives an example of a letter. The advantage of a religious exemption is that once the letter is on your child's school file, you don't have to renew and update it as I believe you do w/ medical exemptions.
