Hi All,

I'm new here. I am not new to dieting but I am new to the SBD way

eating. I purchased the book several weeks ago and plan on starting

Tuesday 02/21. I'm having a complete physical on Monday, just to make

sure my doctor is ok with this plan. About 5 years ago, I went on

Atkins and lost 30 in two months. Needless to say I gained all the

weight back and more. So, I have been very leery of Low Carb Diets.

Since the SBD is neither low carb or low fat, I'm anxious to see if it

will work for me.

This weekend I'm going shopping to purchase my foods for phase one. I

just brought a new treadmill and a new Cathe Friedrich DVD, so I should

be good to go!

More about me..... This morning I weighed in at 213 and my goal is to

weight 125. So, I have a LONG WAY TO GO! I'm 5'4 " and kind of big

boned so I carry it well. Most people think I around 170 or 180

believe it or not! My hubby has been really pressuring me to lose the

weight. We made a PINKY pack when we first got married that we would

not get fat. Not only have I not kept my end of the bargain, but he's

weighs about 310. But he's 6'4 " and he also carries it well. I am

having promising him I would lose the weight for years, but I am

determined now more than ever to lose this weight….

Anyway, I am excited about trying something new and I hope I can lose

weight. I will post some short term and long term goals next week.

Wish me luck!

Any tips on getting started will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
