Early on in the diet, when I went off plan, I judged my course of action by

what I ate. If what I ate was high in fat, then the likelihood it

unbalanced my blood glucose was pretty slim. If it were high in simple

sugars but WITHOUT the fat, then I knew it had given me a substantial jolt

(I could feel it too). If it was a fatty splurge, I usually did not revisit

P1; if a sweet splure, then I always did.

Since you're actually IN P1 and for the first time, you'll want to watch

yourself over the coming week. See how you feel, whether there are cravings

issues and what is going on with your body. Remember -- a craving doesn't

mean a desire to eat a comfort food, it's being ready to eat the

refrigerator and all within it shortly after having a " satisfying " meal. :)

If you find the cravings are back and your body is out of whack, then extend

your P1 a few days. If not, move into P2 as planned and you should be fine.

When you go to P2 remember to take it slow. Some folks will jump into phase

2 at a running pace -- having 2 or 3 servings of grains and fruits right off

the bat. That's a mistake for most and most who do this will eventually

scale back. It's easy to go overboard when entering P2 because there's this

relief valve that explodes as soon as you can eat grains and fruit again.

:)

Keep on keepin' on!!
