Guest guest
The aide should be helping teach appropriate social skills, and " touching " (or NOT " touching " ) falls into this category. You need to make sure you get this written into the IEP goals and objectives. Make sure you join us for the 's Law workshop Feb 28th in Troy. WWW.wrightslaw.com is their web site. They have sample letters that parents can write to schools and all sorts of information there. I went to a 's Law conference in Columbus OH in 2002 and it was quite helpful in teaching me how to document and approach the school system. (Doesn't help me with BUS issues, tho.) In the meantime, there are several yahoo groups you may join help you with your IEP, including IEP_Guide and SpecialEdLawMichigan.
