Guest guest
Hi all, Just a thought. I have not experienced the phase 1 flu, but I have noticed that phase 1 aggravates my dairy intolerance. Normally, I can have a little bit of dairy without noticable issues, but during phase 1 with the absence of fluffy food like muffins and bread there's nothing to dilute the dairy and it goes straight to my intestines, makes me gassy and goes straight through. So, to those of you who have experienced phase 1 flu, are you known to be lactose intolerant or allergic to milk? If you don't know yourself to be, perhaps you are and you never had enough symptoms to make the connection.
Guest guest
I am lactose intolerant, so I use 100% lactose reduced fat free Lactaid milk. Yogurt generally doesn't bother me, as the lactose is already converted in it. With cheese, taking Lactaid pills helps. ann > > I have not experienced the phase 1 flu, but I have noticed > > that phase 1 aggravates my dairy intolerance. > > > > Normally, I can have a little bit of dairy without noticable > > issues, but during phase 1 with the absence of fluffy food > > like muffins and bread there's nothing to dilute the dairy > > and it goes straight to my intestines, makes me gassy and > > goes straight through. > > > > So, to those of you who have experienced phase 1 flu, are you > > known to be lactose intolerant or allergic to milk? Guest guest
I'm not lactose intolerant, but I do have IBS, which flares up if I have lots of milk fats. If I have malts, whole milk, premium ice cream, my IBS acts up. If I have skim, yogurt, etc, I have no problems at all. I did have a nice bout of SBD flu the first time around. ie > So, to those of you who have experienced phase 1 flu, are you known to be > lactose intolerant or allergic to milk? Guest guest
That's interesting ie. so, for you it's the milk fats. For my friend and I it's the milk proteins, and for lots of other people, it's the lactose. That's all 3 parts of the food, the rest is just water! Makes you wonder, doesn't it, why people drink milk that was meant for baby cows. I know there's calcium in it, but you can get enough of that other ways. Boy, the dairy industry has us well brainwashed as a society! > > I'm not lactose intolerant, but I do have IBS, which flares up if I > have lots of milk fats. Guest guest
Well, if you love cheese and want the quick, easy protein it provides, there's not much other choice. Particularly if you are allergic to soy and can't have soy cheese. And yogurt is another quick, easy protein. Brainwashing has nothing to do with it for me, it's just a matter of enjoying cheese for me and wanting easy protein foods for breakfast. ann > > That's interesting ie. > so, for you it's the milk fats. > > For my friend and I it's the milk proteins, > and for lots of other people, it's the lactose. > That's all 3 parts of the food, the rest is just water! > > Makes you wonder, doesn't it, why people drink milk that was meant for baby > cows. > I know there's calcium in it, but you can get enough of that other ways. > Boy, the dairy industry has us well brainwashed as a society! > >
Guest guest
Hi anne, I hope you didn't take my post to strongly. We consume dairy products here as well, for similar reasons. Of course you're not brainwashed, that's an awfully strong word isn't it! Our family has a really difficult time with milk, that's all. Sorry, > > Well, if you love cheese and want the quick, easy protein it provides, > there's not much other choice. Particularly if you are allergic to soy > and can't have soy cheese.
