opposed to the idea, but it's a very stressful situation (selling the house,

packing, moving the kids...etc.) and since we started talking about it, I've

started having chronic heartburn. Golly...wonder why. ;)

So, what does this have to do with the SBD you might ask? Well, I've been

scarfing down Tums for the last few days until......it finally dawned on me to

look at the label. Two tablets has 3g of sugar. Uh-oh. Guess how many grams

of sugar I've downed in the last few days? I don't even want to think about it.

So....anyone have any ideas for dealing with heartburn? I don't think they make

a sugar-free antacid....or do they? I'm not entirely sure I want to take

another drug on top of my other prescription drugs. Hmmmm.

Mix a 1/2 tsp to a tsp of baking soda in a small glass of water.

FWIW, you MIGHT want to consider eating a bit more blandly for a while. :)

If you're on phase 2, back off on the starches a bit as well -- that makes a

HUGE difference for me when I start getting heartburn. When you eliminate

the " white " foods from your diet as the SBD generally requires, heartburn

tends to go away for most folks.

Good luck!
