Milk is loaded with sugar....and not good for us.

Protein supps are great, and they do stop carb cravings, have you ever tried

them?

I remember you left this list a couple of years ago over milk - why even go

there again????

At the time, I agreed with you, but now I am wiser and I know that milk IS

evil! Just like sugar IS evil.

Why go there again? Because quite frankly I really believe what I am saying>

Milk is NOT EVIL. It has natural sugars just like lots of things. I am not

saying make milk your only food in your diet. But a part of your diet. Am I

just supposed to shut up and not have an opinion unless it agrees with the

majority? I shouldn't speak about milk because you guys think it is evil? Oh

okay. That isn't right. As for trying protein supps, yes I have. I have

tried just about everyone I can find and I can't stomach any of them. I get

my protein from food and have not had a problem.

If only one one opinion is allowed on this list why even have a list. Why

not just make it into a newsletter and let everyone read what one particular

group thinks. Seriously. I disagree that milk is evil> IF you don't want to

drink it, don't. No one is forcing you. But it works for me. And it works

for others.

Amen to that! When are we going to learn that one size does not fit all.

looks pretty darn good, and if she likes milk, well, it certainly

hasn't hurt her weight loss. I drink alcohol, and that is EVIL! LOL But,

it doesn't stop me, cause I do like a buzz every now & then. :))

I think we all need to realize that there are no absolutes where weight loss

is concerned. What works beautifully for one person may not work for

another. I find it insulting to read posts that some people are " wiser " than

others because they have certain ideas about foods or what is " evil. " I

welcome all suggestions from fellow grads and the effects certain foods have

on their bodies, but I do not welcome insults or superior attitudes.

Seems like the " list " is not arguing with either of

you. The majority seems to be chosing the silent

vote. Noone needs to be getting this upset over an

issue. Can you just agree to disagree? We are all

here to share views and support each other.

Potato milk is not allowed on SCD.

Also, SCD is not a NO carbohydrate diet. So you don't need to find a milk

substitute that has no carbs. You just need to find something that has the

allowed carbohydrates in it.

You can make coconut milk or nut milk. There are recipes on the

pecanbread.com website.

Regarding the 2% milk question.... here's what I can tell you.

I grew up on whole milk. The thought of anything less was not appealing.

However, after marriage, we decided to change to 2%. I did so

reluctantly, but soon the whole milk was forgotten and the 2% seemed

normal. Then we took it to 1%. Same thing - seemed a bit thin for a

while, but then it seemed normal.

Well, guess who now drinks skim milk and likes it? Yep. I would have

never thought so, but it's just fine.

So, drop down in stages and give it a chance. You might surprise

yourself.... I did.
