I had a similar experience with sugar alcohols. However I didn't eat an entire angel food cake. Instead I ate an entire package of Stovers Sugar Free Turtle. I was so sick that night and the entire next day, I vowed to stay away from those. I believe they had like 18 grams of sugar alcohol in them or something.
