Bear in mind, you've only been on the SBD for 1 week so you may not see as much of a loss yet anyway. > But > I heard that obese people have a hard time losing seeing as they > have more to lose... (Which my doctor is not pleased about, but I > feel great) I'm guessing that weight is a typo and you meant you are 215. Meds can be rough. Prednisone added a happy hundred pounds to a buddy of mine when he was in high school and he STILL hasn't taken it off. It definitely takes longer to lose with meds. > I am having a problem getting all my meals and snacks in. There just > dont seem to be enough hours in the days. And I am a late sleeper > cause my husband works nights. I am eating more than I ever was > before. During P1, the meals and snacks are not optional. In general, you SHOULD be eating 3 squares a day regardless. There are plenty of hours in the day to get the meals in, you may just need to adjust your eating schedule a bit to satisfy your lifestyle. For example, I tend to get up at 9a or thereabouts and I'm NOT a " get up and eat " kind of person. I also prefer what most of us in the US would consider a late dinner (around 8p). Lastly, I have to eat something with my night time meds and that's around midnight. SO, I have my first meal at around 11a, my second meal around 3p-4p, and my third meal around 8p with a small " meal " around 11p. To compensate, I eat less at each meal (so I actually have 4 smaller meals) and make my night time meal something relatively light. This brings up another point -- nothing says you have to eat 3 meals each day either. You can do 4 or 5 smaller meals and in fact, this is helpful for those seeking to lose weight as it more accurately mimics our " natural " way of eating. > And I may be drinking too much crystal light. I hate drinking water. > But other than that I am not using much sugar substitutes. I do one > cup of regular coffee with Land O Lakes FF 1/2 & 1/2 in the morning > (no sugar or sub.). And splurge on a Diet Pepsi once a week. The decision to do diet drinks is a personal one. They can be problematic for some, not so for others. I wouldn't go near the artificial sweeteners in those things if you paid me. Powdered CL has aspartame; the pre-mixed bottles have splenda. The diet sodas typically use aspartame although some are using splenda these days. > I certainly am a carb addict cause I have never craved Dunkin Donuts > and pizza more in my life. And I hardly ever ate them to begin > with!! LOL This will subside. I have NO sweet tooth, nothing even remotely close, yet when I dumped the added sugars for my first run at P1, I was DIEIN'. I wanted everything sweet under the sun and it was absolutely hillarious because *I* do NOT crave such things under normal circumstances. > So I cant wait for PH 2 and get my wraps back! About 15 minutes before a meal, take some psyllium and drink a glass of water. > I am not much for excercising but I am trying to do that every other > day. I am not gaining muscle. Guest guest
Reading your email I would say that you really have been on Phase 1 for a week. And to be honest...not a real phase 1. You are not getting enough foods in and I really can't say if they are the right foods. You are not getting enough exercise and probably not enough water. You might try on being on a full fledged phase 1 then maybe tracking from there. MB New and NOT losing! Hi, I am new to this group and have been on SB for about 2 weeks. But strictly and legally for only one (I was having wraps and cheated a bit with the sugar the 1st week). I joined this group because I need some immediate support that I am hoping to get here that I wasnt getting from other groups. I have not lost anything at all. The first REAL week on SBD. I have gone through my foods and double checked on what my intake is. But I heard that obese people have a hard time losing seeing as they have more to lose... Try using some stevia to sweeten your tea. I like Sweet Leaf but I'm also finding the NOW brand to be quite good as well. You can get packets of Sweet Leaf that are just the right amount for most tea drinkers. Just add it slowly, give yourself a chance to decide where it tastes best. If you're still experiencing cravings, your blood sugar levels may still be a bit off so stick as closely to the plan as possible. > Also I have Crohns disease and Ulcerative Colitis and recovered from > rectal cancer (at 30, no less!!). Ahhhh...you didn't mention this. Have you discussed the SBD with your doctor(s)? What dietary limitations have they placed upon you as a result of the Crohns and UC? BTW, on the matter of oatmeal, ake some time to find oatmeal that's allowed on the SBD before you start eating it again.
Guest guest
, Gosh, you have had it rough! I looked at your menu and it sounds pretty good. There may be a bit too much cheese. Some people find it stalls the weight loss, so maybe you could cut back just a little to see how it goes. Also, we can only have 1/4 cup of nuts a day, or 2 Tbsp nut butter a day, as nut products are high in fat. We can't have both on the same day. The one day, I noticed you had 1/2 cup of nuts plus 2 Tbsp peanut butter, which is three days' worth of nuts. So, maybe if you lower the nut intake it could help. I don't know what you mean by a SF chocolate people butter bar, so I don't know if it is okay. Is that some SBD product? Were the refried beans fat free? If not, switch to fat free refried beans, as they have no lard in them. Otherwise, your menu is pretty good, really. Just maybe do a little fine tuning and see if it helps. I put 1/2 pack Splenda in my tea. I know it is hard to drink the water, but maybe you could try to add a little each day and see if it helps. Yes, the oatmeal should help with the constipation. Keep up the good work. Hopefully, next week, you will have a good report. Is it near your period time? That could be holding weight on you, if so. ann > > Yes, I am 215.
