Guest guest
Bill, Thank you for the warning because I would have clicked on it also. God bless, Belinda > Please take care. A File has a virus attached. I believe I clicked on a sender titled Laclaren with the subject Lets be friends. My Anti-virus program then cut in with a warning. Guest guest
Hi Belinda. Don't most of the group have anti-virus programs. They really should, as these things can add to everybody's expenses very quickly. It seems that the group generally should have that much insurance, as their expenses must be heavy enough as it is. If they don't understand, how can they be educated? Regards Bill P. Guest guest
Someone on this e-mail list has a virus on their computer. It is almost impossible to tell who it is...the " From: " field is unreliable. I am getting these e-mails, but they don't have any attachments. Some people are getting the attachments, with the Klez virus in it. Klez is nasty. Everyone should have Anti-Virus software running on their computer. Especially if you are members of e-mail lists like this one. In addition...YOUR ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE IS USELESS, UNLESS YOU MAKE SURE IT IS UPDATED REGULARLY (every week!). Unfortunately new Virus' come out all the time, and they are getting smarter. If you don't update your anti-virus software, it won't recognize the new virus'. I recommend Norton http://www.symantec.com/, or McAfee http://www.mcAfee.com/ If you don't want to spend money, you can try AVG antivirus from Grisoft, http://www.grisoft.com And I can't stress enough...if your virus definitions are out of date, your Anti-virus software is USELESS. (I have helped other people, and their virus definitions were 3 years old...) I got caught with the Klez virus on my home computer. I didn't realize the automatic updates weren't working (don't know why), and my definitions were only 2 months old!! I am still trying to recover. Steve > Re: Virus'. Guest guest
thank usome of these responses come as attachmentsthough most don't.i am deleting all those as attachments until you tell me "it's safe"!jack In General.....Any e-mail that has an attachment you didn't expect....Don't open it. Whether it is from this list or not, whether it is from someone you know or not, make sure you KNOW what it is before opening it. I have deleted the 4 e-mails that contained the virus from the group webpage archives. I will continue to do so if we get more. I believe I have found the infected member, and have let them know. Hopefully they can fix the problem, and we won't get any more. Steve
