Guest guest
Thanks Dana, I thing teen years are the worse for everyone but can be devastating for our kids. I know I hated teen years and had no where near the difficulties my child has. The points you make are very important if only we can get this to sink in deeply enought that when the teen years hit they remember it in all the effort to fit in, be liked, feel normal, learn and feel well. Evan NT kids reject parents big time then & outside influences can make more of an impression on our spectrum kids who often lack the skills needed to survive this environment. It is just horrible otherwise. After going thru hell for my teen she is finally getting the understanding and MEDICAL help she has needed for years. Those of you with little ones knowing what you know are so much more fortunate for your children's sakes. I wish I could go back and start over knowing what I know now. I can't but will not give up getting my child well and am seeing some remarkable progress. I am holding onto the hope that it is never too late to heal and to learn. Dana as always you are so informative and helpful. Thanks Michele
Guest guest
>> I am holding onto the > hope that it is never too late to heal and to learn. I have learned more in certain areas in the last 3 years than I learned in the first 30+ years of my life. Never too late. Dana

So if you want to read MY writings, or the writings of others which I host on my site space, you can look for the **. I do try to include those links at the TOP of each section, but sometimes it works out to be more organized if I include them somewhere in the middle of the sections. Nice that you enjoy reading my writings tho! Dana
Guest guest
> One of your children (#3 ?) has a problem with an eye > that can turn, with a discharge. This is #4. Her eye turns and has discharge if she eats a bad food without enzymes, has a yeast/bacteria issue, or a few other things. >> Have you done copper > chelation? I supplemented her with zinc for several months, until the zinc caused problems which I interpreted to mean she had no more copper imbalance. I also just finished round 40 ALA chelation with her. Has No Fenol or heavy metal chelation > effected this at all? Yes. Her eye is straight now, without discharge, unless she eats a " bad food " without enzymes or has yeast etc. Dana
Guest guest
> How much zinc did you supplement with? What kind of > problems did you see that suggested to you copper > wasn't a problem? I have 50 mg zinc tablets. I chopped them and gave 1/2 to #2 and 1/4 each to #3 and #4. This was every day. Problems were that my kids started having diarrhea and regression. When I stopped giving the zinc, these problems went away. > Is the list of 'bad' foods shrinking for #4 as well? Right now I am tinkering with a few things, so I really don't know how to answer this question. It appears my kids now do not tolerate supplements that they tolerated before, so that part is strange, depending on which supplement I am talking about. They still have problems with certain foods, even with enzymes. But overall they appear to tolerate more foods now than they did before. #3 seems to tolerate more foods than #2 and #4. > Have you had her vision tested? No. She is only 3yo and does not exhibit vision problems except for the eye turning and discharge. > I've noticed that my son has become a picky eater with > progress. Small price to pay, I guess. My kids now have " preferences " , whereas before they would eat anything. Based on our history tho, to me this is a good sign. Dana
Guest guest
> Hi Dana, > Thank you for helping me sort this all out! Well, I *hope* I have been helpful! > I guess the fact that I don't know anything about either one would be my > problem! Keep reading and asking questions. > Would I find about all of these differences in McCandles book? I disagree with her on a few things, so probably not. But overall the book is helpful. I have been > meaning to order it to check out, but the whole things about having to buy > it from them before you can join the list kind of put me off. The stated reason is so that they don't have to answer questions which are covered in the book. At least that is what was stated previously. Good luck. Guest guest
> Dana: > > Just want to be sure that I understood you correctly. You dosed ALA at 10 mg every 8 hours? Yes, Dana did it every 8 hours. I would strongly encourage you to do it every 3 instead, since the odds are very much better that your kids will get maximum improvement on that versus every 8 hours which actually makes a lot of people worse. Guest guest
Hi, I know you have posted about this before, can I trouble you once more about this? You gave your son B's to heal his gut. B6, B12? Complex? What kind of dosages? And also, you added folinic acid, too? What kind of dosages? Was that all you added? Thanks, Dana. a

Sure > You gave your son B's to heal his gut. B6, B12? Complex? I read somewhere [can't remember where] that B6 helps heal the gut. What kind > of dosages? And also, you added folinic acid, too? Folic acid, I did not use folinic. What kind of > dosages? Was that all you added? While his gut was still healing, I believe I had used B6 and B12 as individual supplements. Once chelation was completed, I used B100 and saw really nice improvement. At first, my son needed an insanely high amount. This has steadily reduced [with the re-introduction of USRDA selenium]. Now he needs only two B100 per day, altho yesterday I gave him one B100 and one B50 and he was fine, so we shall see. Dana
Guest guest
> How will I know how much zinc or copper to give my son? For zinc, I would start with 15mg [uSRDA] and work up. The maximum daily dose would be your child's weight plus 20mg. So if your child weighed 50 pounds, you could go up to 70mg if required. For copper, I give my one son who is deficient in copper, 2mg [uSRDA] about 3x per week. I would not give more than the USRDA of 2mg as a daily dose. Sometimes I give a little zinc along with the 2mg copper. > As for the squealing I mentioned....he does it in combination with his hand > flapping in front of his eye (both of which he didn't do before td-dmps). I would consider yeast first. Dana
