Does anyone know if a flu shot would alter the ketostix. I just bought a

bottle and it is barely pink. I have been trying to do induction without the

book. I got the book too. I also found a sale on bacon at Sack n SAv and you

won't believe.....I got 10 lbs of good looking bacon for 5.90.......I put it

in my freezer....I hope they carry this all the time......Jean..Anybody want

to come have some , come on......LOL

Barely pink is just as good as really pink. In fact, it's much better. Really

pink means you're not getting enough water. Good job and welcome to ketosis

My mom and her four sisters all get the flu shot every year, they

range from 70-90 years old. Do I tell them not to get the flu shot -

no. My gut tells me that if they have been getting them for as long

as they have and are quite healthy and alert at their age, that it has

not affected them. However, one of them, my Aunt Helen, was diagnosed

with dementia a couple of years ago, and now it is considered

Alzheimers. I have sent them tons of articles on the connection

between vaccines and thimerosol and they do listen. I insist to my

mom and aunts that Aunt Helen absolutely DOES NOT get any flu shot at

all. I just sent them an email telling them to refuse the flu-mist.

It is a very hard situation, you don't want to tell them not to get a

shot, because you don't want to be responsible if something happens to

them because they got the flu, which could be dangerous at their age.

Lynn

> My mom gets a flu shot every year (she did not get one yet this

year) but this was the first time she said patients were signing

waviers of some kind, reason being the flu vaccine has thermerasol in

it. She will probably still get it, even thoug she is hesitant. She

is almost 70 years old, and is very confused about this whole mercury

issue....I told her to do whatever she wants ( I do not want her

getting the flu) and not to worry...if she gets alzhiemers ...we will

all take care of her (haha). Seriously though I wish this whole

thermirasol/mercury/vaccine issue could be resolved. We should not

have to be living in fear of " what if " .

Thanks! I agree there is concern about lack of vit D. My levels were low, but I

was given a prescription of high dose vit. D.to correct that-.

- so that's a good thing

A pathologist I studied under gave these statistics on the flu vaccines.

He said out of all of the people who accept the flu injection 50% will have a

reaction of some kind. Of that 50%, 7% will have a reaction so severe they will

end up in the hospital, 3% of those people will die.

In light of this information, my opinion is that if there is no guarantee you

will get the flu, then you are just playing Russian Roulette with your life.

Further more if you go to look at the statistics, the Center For Disease

Control, lump the number of deaths for the flu and pneumonia all together. What

is wrong with that is that while some people will acquire pneumonia from having

the flu. Pneumonia, is a bacterial infection, the flu is viral. so the death

statistics should not be combined.

My doc is an epidemiologist. Her advice was to stay away from any vaccine.

Actually, as we reviewed my particular story, she found a correlation between

vaccinations and worsening of my symptoms.

I got the flu shot two days ago. I have had an allergy test done several years

back that said I was allergic to egg yolk but not egg white. Over a year on SCD

and egg white just does not see to work either. There is egg in the vaccine,

but I got a dead virus version. Within 30 minutes I was achey, hot and cold and

needed to sleep. My temp within an hour was up to 102.5 - I called the pharmacy

and they said that mild fever is a possibility in getting the flu shot. This

had not happened to me when I got it eight yrs prior. I also had some eggs

incorporated into my diet at that time. The pharmacist says that I cannot get

the flu from the shot because it is a dead virus in the vaccine (actually three

different strains). They did say the reaction was my bodies way of adjusting to

the presence of something in the vaccine and that it should pass within a day.

Woke up the next day and my temp was at 97.4 and I feel fine. HOpe that helps.

I haven't had a flu shot recently, but never had any problems with the ones I

got in the past (other than a sore arm). Out of all the vaccinations I've

gotten, only one gave me issues. I had to get a repeat MMR before starting

college (if you were born between certain years, they thought that the vaccine

you got as a kid was somehow ineffective). I ended up with severe pain in my

knees and ankles. It was torture to just walk, which was really fun since the

semester had just started. It lasted for maybe one or two weeks. The doctor, of

course, said he had never heard of anything like that happening.
