P.S. on imitation shellfish

I'm still in shock -- This brand, here in Boston, must be different than the

brands in the L.A.

area. I don't know how I got the idea that imitation crab/lobster was

practically all protein,

but I DID definitely have that impression. Maybe because the label said " fat

free, " and maybe

because i was assuming that soy-based imitation meat was virtually all soy

protein. I THINK

I've looked at labels for this product with very low carb amounts -- but, maybe

my memory is

fooling me. Ooof... what a blow! And, you know, many types of real shellfish

have high

levels of mercury in them, which, scientists now are saying, is implicated in

the rising number

of children born with autism. That, and tuna, and swordfish (which won't be a

problem in

another few years, anyway, since it is so overfished that there are only baby

swordfish out in

the waters right now, and they will probably be virtually extinct before too

long. Sheesh.

You think you're doing something right, saving the fish of the world, or the

environment, or

something by eating soy products, and it turns out you're just shooting yourself

in the foot.

Sheesh!
