Guest guest
Hi all Firstly Kell, your news re your husband Jay is just fantastic-here's hoping for continued improvement of his health. Karin and Kathy, your big days are tomorrow-wow!!! The first day of the rest of your new lives. I was so scared too Kathy of the anaesthetic and waking up during the operation that I told the anaesthetist at my pre-op to up the dose-he just smiled!! But you will wake up in recovery and be glad it's over having not remembered a thing. Last weekends gorging is all but forgotten except the bits I need to learn from. Was sore for days though. Went to Perth on Friday for checkup/fill and Dr Kierath said repeated episodes will do damage but a once off shouldn't do much harm. But it was definitely time for another fill. It's great though-this fill has finally after 6 months giving me the restriction that people talk of. It was only an extra .25 mls but within an hour I knew it felt different. Had a big drink of water in his rooms and nothing felt different so went to the airport to go home and bought a beer and it took me over a half an hour to drink it-well, they do say to keep up your fluids!!! Had the same tea as I did the night before and it wouldn't go down. So yesterday just had the last few tins of baby food from post-op times and things are settling down nicely. I could drink diet coke and diet drinks easy but now I burp and bubble away and I just love it-I have restriction!!! And it has relieved some pressure mentally because I had to work very hard to stop eating when I had limited restriction and I worried, even though I was seeing results, that the band wasn't as effective as it should be. But now, I'm thrilled and looking forward with much anticipation. We are going camping/fishing at Esperance on Weds for a couple of days. Yesterday shopping for the trip I just had a big smile on my face in Woolies. In the past I would have bought kilos of snags, chops, steak, crisps, lollies, grog etc etc. But it is the most liberating, wonderful feeling to have some cruskits and soups and spaghetti packed and maybe actually enjoy the great outdoors without having an enormously full belly waiting for it's next feed. As great as the weight loss is, I think the freedom from food or huge amounts of it is the best feeling. Anyhow, since I feel that good it's time to play Abba really loud and do some housework. Enjoy your week everyone. Banded: 05.02.01 Surgeon: Tony Kierath Glengarry Hospital Perth Height: 175 cms Was: 122 kg Now: 96 kg
