How much is an average for a first fill? 2. What can I expect at the time, and in following days. Guest guest Posted June 4, 2001 Report Share Posted June 4, 2001 Lynn, Fill rates and protocols vary from Dr to Dr. My first fill was 2mls and the next five were each .5ml. I had no instructions to change back to fluids after any fill. Once, I needed to have my fill under xray as my port was tilted and difficult to find. Other times it was easy to " find the button " .
