Guest guest
Thanks so much Betty! I appreciate you caring. Today is a good day. My breathing is good. Throat is okay but not 100%. It gets so frustrating when you have a good day and you think...IT'S GETTING BETTER...and the next day it's bad again. Argh! ! ! ! Well....I will enjoy this good day and hope tomorrow is even better. That's all I can do. I will confess that I weighed on my bathroom scale yesterday and it was 215 lbs. That's 16.00 lbs. out of leeway. It's a start and I ate well yesterday and weighed this morning with a turtle. Would have loved to have seen it down but I am doing the same today and hoping tomorrow it will be down. I will go back to my doctor on Monday to see if I can add what they want me to add to my doctors excuse to make it legal and if that works I will be back to TOPS on Thursday. I really do miss it but I'm not losing my KOPS status because of this. Anywho....I now understand what people say about steroids....I finished the last pill yesterday and for the past week I've been STARVING and I have noticed that after I eat I'm still not full. I kept thinking I SHOULDN'T BE HUNGRY. Then I realized...it must be the streroids. The good news is that I didn't give in each time I was thinking I'M HUNGRY because I knew it was just the steroids talking. The inhaler I'm taking has steroids but I am not STARVING anymore all the time so that's a good thing. I will get this 16 lbs. off in no time! ! ! I am hoping I'm well enough to not be gasping for air trying to move on Feb 1! I'm glad the movers are moving the big stuff! Just 18 days until we move out of " the construction site " and into a nice, quiet, CLEAN complex! Guest guest
I know right! ! ! I thought the same thing. The good news is I refilled my Protonix for the nighttime acid reflux last night and I'm breathing better today. I don't know if it's a fluke or if it's because I got back on the medication. I will just believe it's because I got back on the medication. I ran out on the 6th and the next day is when the problems started up again so I'm sure it was because of the medication. My doctor never said to keep taking it but she did allow two more refills. I then read a book about Protonix in the pharmacy last night and it said a typical dose is supposed to be taken for 8 weeks and if you still have symptoms another 8 weeks. I only took them for 4. My fault! It also states that your doctor can up the dosage. I'm taking 40mg but they go to 240mg so I know all hope is NOT lost! It says in some rare cases you have to take them forever! Oh well. I'll be out 35.00 a month for the rest of my life but atleast I can breath! Thanks, Re: Roll Call/Exercise () ~ Had hoped the breathing and throat problems were behind you ~ especially since it didn't bother you with your move !!!!!! Prayers still going up for you to FINALLY be healed !!!!!! Take care !!!!!! Hugs, Randie RE: Roll Call/Exercise () Thanks Grammy Pat! ! I am struggling this week. I don't know what the scale will bring but I can't wait to go to TOPS. I haven't been able to stay for a meeting and spend time with my chapter members in a long, long time. Last week my throat and breathing were fine. I had a good move. It didn't bother me at all. I was so happy because I thought it was finally going away. For some reason this past Thursday my throat started up again and my breathing is bad again. Today it's horrible. I made an appointment to see my doctor again on Thursday. I also refilled all my prescriptions. I did run out of the Protonix (for night time acid refllux) last week before Thursday so MAYBE that's why everything got bad again but who knows! It's so scary and frustrating. I won't give up finding out how to fix this once and for all. And I will be exercising NO MATTER WHAT! I am still taking the steroids in the inhalers but not in the pill form. I'm not as hungry as I was so I guess I got used to them or it stopped bothering me as much. Thanks for asking. Guest guest
That's true Betty 2: The Sequel and I will always from now on but you would THINK my doctor would have explained the pills more to me. She just gave my mom the prescriptions, told her how I was after surgery, and left. She never even mentioned anything to me after I saw her the next time. I figured she would explain them to me more. I already feel better so I know it was because I got off the Protonix that I started to get bad again. I also see her tomorrow so I will ask her more questions then. And, like said, you can't put a price on breathing so I'll pay whatever it takes! Glad your better. 35.00 a month isn't bad, my husband and I are both on much more expensive meds, no fun to go to the pharmacy these days. Betty 2 EMAIL SUPPORT TEXAS-STYLE!! Guest guest
, We have all been where you are.....thinking we will lose and have a GAIN....thinking we will gain and have a LOSS! Go figure, who knows why our bodies do this to us! I'm glad you got your medicine refilled and are already feeling better. Get to that gym, watch your meals and you WILL get in leeway.....5 weeks to go. You can do it! Hugs, Roll Call/Exercise () It was another one of those weeks. Last week I expected a gain or a small loss and I got 6.25 lbs. lost. This week I expected a small loss and I got a 2.50 lb. gain. Go figure right? I'm still out of leeway by 13 lbs. but I'm on medical excuse until April 1. I think I have 5 weeks to lose that 13 lbs. YIKES! I better get on the ball. AND I WILL THIS WEEK! No exercise again because of my health. I ran out of my pills and procrastinated about refilling them because I thought I was better and I didn't want to pay another copay. WELL....it went back to the way it was! I refilled it Monday and I am already back to where I was thank God. I am breathing fine and my throat is fine. Tomorrow is a new TOPS week and I will, WITHOUT A DOUBT, be hitting the gym with my workout partner. I am surely looking forward to it. I have a gym visit scheduled every day this week! ! ! I will have a loss next week! And every week after that!
