Guest guest
The SCD is great if you need to starve out the bad bugs. Also, if you have bowel problems. You must be 100% committed to not eating any of the foods that are not on the diet. My daughter has been on it for 8 months and she has made SOME gains but, because she would sneak illegal foods, her yeast is still an issue. We are using candidase and goat yogurt right now. I'm not sure if it will work but, I have to try to find another way than just SCD to help with yeast. I know www.pecanbread.com has great information on it. Is there anyone out there using the SCD diet? And are there any other resources or web sites you would recommend? Also, to get to take all his vitamins, I mix them in with breakfast and in his afternoon snack, both of which are usually sweet to some degree (like almond butter and jelly sandwiches). I wish the labs could somehow make all this stuff taste good! Anyhow, I know the SCD diet cuts out a lot of things at the beginning especially. Has anyone found good mixers for vitamins that kids will take (somewhat) willingly and that comply with the SCD? I am very lucky that is a good eater so he may be okay with even " far out " suggestions on this. Thanks!
Guest guest
Oops, The Garden of Eating Book on my previous post doesn't actually relate to the SCD diet. , who sent me all of the links which I've copied for you in the previous post, recommended this cook book as I believe the recipes are grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, (and if I'm not mistaken corn, soy & refined sugar free too??) Sounded wonderful, and I've ordered a copy which I'm yet to received. Anyway, thought I'd better clear that up. > http://www.thegardenofeatingdiet.com/ (the cookbook I LOVE!)
