I told him before surgery that my mom had normal menopause at 44-45. No serious problems. I need to say that my family is all from Spain and there's a chance that we may get menopause earlier than american, north european women. I told this to my radiologist and he said that the only women that had gone into menop. after the embol. were women in their 50's. The city were I live is predominantely german background. PATIENT BEWARE YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR OWN DETERMINATION BASED ON YOUR FAMILY AND POSSIBLY ETHNIC BACKGROUND. IT DOESN'T HELP ME ANY THAT NORTHEUROPEAN WOMEN DON'T TEND TO GET MENOP. UNTIL AT LEAST 51 AS AN AVERAGE. I BROUGT UP THAT ISSUE BEFORE THE EMBO AND THE RADIOLOGIST DISMISSISED IT COMPLETELY. UNFORTUNALY I MAY HAVE SWITCHED HORRENDOUS BLEEDING FOR AWFUL MENOPAUSEL SYMPTOMS. I DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE HRT BECAUSE ONE OF THE REASONS I DID THE UAR WAS TO STOP TAKING THE BIRTH CONTROL PILLS THAT I COULDN'T TOLERATE AT ALL!!! IT IS A CATCH-22!!!
