Guest guest
Amy, Welcome to our group. You will find a lot of support, knowledgeable advice and friendly ladies here. I will tell you a little about my experience and hope it helps. Although I did not have one fibroid, I had 6 of them. Intramural and submucosal. This means that they were in the lining of the uterus and also protruding into the uterine cavity. I did get pregnant despite all of these fibroids. And I got pregnant after trying for 3 months. So I apparently did not have a fertility problem. To make a long story short we lost our son at 5 months due to preterm labor that I was told was brought on due to my fibroids. I have since had an open myo and am currently ttc. You cannot let this story scare you. The best advice I can give you is to meet with a reproductive endocrinologist in you already haven't. They are usually best at dealing with fibroids. They can explain the risks associated with these things. My guess is that if you only have one your case is no where near as bad as some of the other ladies here including myself. Not to minimize your concerns though. I just suggest you see someone who can speak to the location of your fibroids, the exact size and maybe can monitor how it has grown. Mine grew rapidly while pregnant. I am told it is because they are fueled by estrogen? I am just happy to have them gone and have a change at getting pregnant again. Keep us posted. And I hope this helped a little.
