When does post-op swelling subside?

Hi all

I am 12 days post myo, and my stomach is till very swollen. How long

does it take to go down? The dr removed 2 fibroids, one a tennis ball

size and the other a grapefruit size, and I was really hoping for a

reduction in my stomach. He said by the time he was finished, the

uterus was half its normal size. However it looks to me to be the

same. Could the fibroids have grown back that quickly?

I wish now I had had a hysterectomy instead. I am 39 and do not want

kids. Does anyone know the statistics of fibroids growing back?

Please help - I feel so despondent - and there is so little info here

in South Africa.
