Guest guest
Hello, I am new to this group and dx with a uterine fibroid 3 years ago that was not too large at the time. I just returned from my physical where my doctor told me that my uterus was quite enlarged and he felt that my fibroid was the size of a grapefruit. I am slim and have had to re-invest in some new blue jeans this year and chalked it up to turning 40 last December and the middle age spread. Now I know who the culprit is and I am wondering how big this thing that is playng havoc with my figure might get. I also have been having bladder difficulties with regards to chronic urinary urgency. Hmmm kind of like when I was pregnant. I am not experiencing any pain but do and have always had very heavy periods with heavy lower pressure on one of the flow days. The doc basically told me that if I could live with it and I wasn't experiencing pain that the best thing to do is to watch and wait and hope that it doesn't grow too much more and wait for menopause when it will start to shrink. Menopause is quite possibly a ways away and I really do not like the idea of looking pregnant for the next 5-10 years. What are the best options for large fibroids....how big can they get ? Your feedback is greatly appreciated. D
