I was on depo for 4 years and last August I had breakthrough bleeding that was terrible. I was passing clots the size of Texas and changing my pads every 1/2 hour to 1 hour. I begged my primary doctor to put me on BCP because I knew that it will regulate my periods and I wouldn't flow so heavily. My next period after the first pack was about the same as the last one--a gusher--but I dealt with it. The period after the 2nd pack was great! Spotting-like period, cramps that were bearable, I felt like I was in heaven compared to before. I'm afraid to go off of them now. I don't know why type of fibroids I have. My appointment with my GYN isn't until 2/23. In the meantime, I deal with the pain I am in (been in pain for 2 months now) by taking Vioxx and Tylenol. I mostly ignore it the best I can. I am sure that the fibroids were the cause of the heavy bleeding (I always bled heavily and had very bad cramps) but I just didn't know it until I had pelvic pain. I'll be glad when we get this problem solved because it's the pits! Re: /BCPs , That's great news! I have to ask, what brand birth control are you on? Do you have intramural fibroids?
