This is a good basic-level article for those looking into options. It gives you enough info to know what to research further and what to ask your doctors about. It confirms what Roma has said here several times -- there have been amazing advances in the field of anesthesia in just the past 10 years -- deaths from anesthesia reduced to minuscule numbers.
