Hello, All Ye Ladies of the List!

And . . as Pat is fond of saying here, " Happy Friday Eve, " to one and

all.

I've missed reading most of the posts in recent days--so I hope I'm not

repeating this news from Down Under.

But since it's so close to Happy Hour, and the weekend, I think this news

might just bear repeating.

****************************************************************

According to a recent study done at the Queensland Institute of Medical

Research, (Australia), daily wine drinkers reduced their risk of ovarian

cancer--

BY ONE HALF(!!!), with RED wine providing the greatest benefit.

See, my fellow LOL, a healthful lifestyle isn't always about

self-deprivation. (And let's ALL drink to that!!)

I'm so fascinated with this research, I might have to try to replicate the

findings on my own ovaries. Might even write a little song about my crusade to

reduce my risk of ovarian cancer.

How about a tune entitled............ " The Days of Wine and ROMA " ?

Carla, I don't suppose you've uncovered any promising research about

wine-drinking and FIBROIDS, have you? :-) And BTW, Carla--take note!!! Your

" Got

Ovaries? " t-shirt might have to be updated now to read: " Got Ovaries?.. Get

Wine! "

Anyway, those who are interested can read more about this research in this

April 29th article entitled: " Ovarian Cancer Drops on a Drop. "

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,9417352%5E23289,

00.html

Cheers!

Here's To (all of )Your Health!!!

And a special toast to all our " May Myo Maidens " and to those LOL in the

throes of making difficult health decisions,

-Roma

P.S. Also- remember that red wine is a source of non-heme iron. I think it

was Carla who wrote something like: " not enough iron in red wine to really write

home about "

but, I say, a source is still a source. :-)

A sigh is still a sigh....the fundamental things apply as time goes

by.........:-)
