Guest guest
If the " guinea pigs " VOLUNTEER for the position of their own free, *fully informed* will, I see absolutely nothing unethical about it. It is the WOMEN themselves that believe that their uteri are " dispensable " , not the doctors. That's why (at this point) this procedure is ONLY being offered to women who are NOT interested in preserving their fertility. If such women opt, (again, of their own free will) to have focused ultrasound **rather than a hysterectomy***, and if what is learned on them can teach doctors how to safely " zap " fibroids WITHOUT impairing fertility (as well as how to " zap " brain tumors, etc with NO INCISION and NO pain)- you see that as a problem?????? >>are we just guinea pigs? -- Hey if it works &becomes available to us, >>great – but will it?? Well, if we do everything in our power to hinder the progress of the research, it may NOT ever be available to us. Is that really what we want?
