Guest guest
Hi Ladies, I just got word today from the Women's Clinical Research Center, here in Seattle, that they are gearing up to do a controlled study of symptomatic fibroids. They will send me more information soon that I will post here but here's what they have told me so far: " In a nutshell, the trial will be a placebo controlled, fairly short study (about 40 days on treatment) looking at the effects of a SPRM (Selective Progestin Receptor Modulator). There will be about 45 days of screening where the study subject will collect their sanitary products and bring them to this site. We will submit them to a lab that will then accurately measure bleeding. " " It is imperative that no pregnancies occur during the study and women can't be on other hormones during, so they would need to rely on other measures (ligation, double-barriers, vasectomy, abstinence). If you are currently trying to conceive, then this might not be the study for you. Of note, heavy bleeding during your menses and/or a low hemoglobin count are requirements for the study. " If you live in the Puget Sound Area and are interested in helping advance fibroid research then let me know and I will be sure to forward details to you directly as well as to this list.
