Guest guest
Hi all, I'm going to get AFOs to help me with my " drop foot " . It is getting increasingly harder to lift my foot to walk. I have an appt in 2 weeks to discuss it. My biggest issue is I have very wide feet so how will these fit into my shoes........................ Did you have to get wider shoes to accomodate them? I'm already wearing at least XX and prefer XXX when I can find those. Hinged or unhinged? Why? My PT said there is a feature you can get on AFOs that helps relax spasticity. It sounds odd, but sounds like there are tiny bumps on the AFO base so it's not 100% smooth under your foot. Anyone heard of that? I guess there's an issue with how much the brace wraps around to the front of the ankle. Any input is appreciated. I'm also highly considering trying botox in my calf to help my Achilles tendons. My hope is that could help a bit so I wouldn't need much baclofen. I'm on a low dose of baclofen but would prefer to do even less and have more brains available. We did a Survey on the baclofen pump a couple of years ago so maybe we could do a Botox survey, if we have enough people who have used botox. What do you think? best, Kathi
