Guest guest
I highly recommend Dr. , an interventional radiologist of Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, California , who performed my Uterine Artery Embolization. Like many of you, I had suffered a great deal with a growing fibroid. I kept being told by my gynecologist to 'watch and wait' until it was so big it was too late to do the minor procedures I'd finally researched and discovered, which he'd never told me about. Then I was told " you don't really need a uterus, do you? Let's just take it out. " That was when I changed doctors. I kept thinking there must be a better way. I was finally led to a wonderful gynecologist who listed all my options. I wanted the least invasive one, which turned out to be a UAE. My gynecologist said that the only doctor he would even think of recommending to his patients to do this procedure was Dr. , one of the very top, most skilled and experienced interventional radiologists who perform this procedure. When I met Dr. I was impressed by how knowledgeable, warm and caring he was. He spent well over an hour with me patiently answering in detail each of my many questions and concerns. I scheduled the procedure for later that week and knew I was in good hands and what to expect. Huntington Hospital is such a beautiful place it looks more like a hotel, and everything is so clean and well maintained. Dr. 's staff is nice and attentive and I felt safe and taken care of. The procedure went well and I went home within hours, with a single band-aid as the only evidence anything was even done. I knew there would be some occasional pain for a week or so and Dr. checked in with me almost every day for about two weeks to see how I was doing! I've never had a doctor take such an involved, caring and hands on approach from start to finish. Everything went just as he described it would. I was back at work in a week, although in occasional pain, and completely fine within two weeks. That was about a year and a half ago. Since then, according to my last ultrasound the fibroid has shrunk to half it's size, the excessive bleeding is a distant memory, back pain and cramping are gone and I don't look pregnant anymore (when I'm not). This procedure has changed my life. I feel freer, healthier and happier that I've been in a long time. I am so grateful to Dr. and his staff and I want to share this experience so that someone else might be helped like I was. Sincerely, Bonnie Tauber
