Guest guest
Nola, I never saw your original post. Sometimes that happens. So I hope you get this message and it doesn't get lost in the emails at all. I am one of the people who posts here who had a UAE. It's not all about myos. It's about knowing your options. There is also a group on yahoo called embo where women who have had UAE or are favoring that procedure discuss it. In my case, my first gyno said " hysterectomy " and my second one said " watch and wait. " However I already knew about UAE and when I asked the second doc about it, he said he didn't know enough, that there was a risk of infection (he was very patriarchal) but to give him credit, he told me that IF I was going to do that then I should find Dr. Kirsch who he knew had done the most procedures. I decided on UAE because I desperately did not want to have surgery. Also, at my age (at the time, 48) I did not expect my insurance company would pay for a myo. That and all the research I did convinced me that the UAE was a good way to go for me, and I have been very happy with my results. I hope this info is useful. bye for now laurie g. Most of the emails are bout MYOMECTOMY and any one hardly ever mention any other form of treatments such as EMBOLISATION. My question was what made any of you decide to choose myo. as oppose embo. did your doctor ever gave you an option. Someone please respond. Nola..
