Guest guest
Hi ladies, and and I are brainstorming and researching to organize our first Women's Retreat long weekend. Nothing is set yet, but here's what we're thinking at the moment: We're going to try to find a real Retreat setting rather than working with a hotel and function rooms. We think being in a natural and beautiful environment would be much better. A peaceful setting and opportunities to enjoy nature! We had 3 retreats to look into but one in northern CA that looked fabulous turned out to not be very accessible, darn and shame on them, so it's out of the running. The one I'm currently hot to get details on is in Tampa. I sent them an email but haven't heard back so I guess I'll have to call them. If it sounds promising, I'll be able to check it out in person in early June cuz I'll be down there then. If it doesn't work out, then our 2nd choice right now is located an hour's drive south of Atlanta. Now, this will be a Women's Retreat. That doesn't mean you can't bring your husband and he can do his own thing while we do our stuff, but if you can travel alone, consider coming by yourself. Go women! If you'd like to come alone but want a roomate, we can try to pair people up. What will we do - well, this is an opportunity for women with HSP or PLS to talk about personal issues around having crazy legs and all that goes with that. We'll do some brainstorming on potential session topics and pick the ones women want the most. I'm also leaning towards ending this with a TeamWalk, for those who want to participate in that effort. Dates - I am currently leaning towards the long weekend of October 13 but that's not cast in stone. First, we have to find where we want to do this and then book a weekend they are available to host us. Cost - We will keep an eye on costs so this is affordable. Of course you have to drive or fly there so there's that expense. I think that a real Retreat setting will be less $ than a hotel and function rooms but still, lodging costs money. I'm thinking 2-3 overnights. Food - we have to eat; no dieting. We might get a professional to lead a session and we'd have to go in on that expense but split up, it won't be that bad. We'll do our own facilitation for most sessions, I think. Given what I've said above, it's time for me to collect names so I have an idea of how many women will be participating, as that will impact site selection and cost. So, please let me know if you'd like to come, if you can do either location, if you want and can do 3 overnights, if you'd be bringing a sig other or want a private room or roomate. _kathigeisler1@..._ (mailto:kathigeisler1@...)
