Guest guest Posted March 14, 2004 Report Share Posted March 14, 2004 Dawn, I have at least 5 fibroids, my uterus is about 20 week size. I had a colonoscopy done on 1/12/04. My Dr. was fully aware of my fibroids and assured me that he always uses a child size scope with women (I am not a small person). The procedure was very easy. I was out before he put the instrument in and back in recovery when I woke up. I had no soreness or any other after effect. The problem with the virtual colonoscopy is if they find something you have to have the real thing anyway. Also, I understand that you do the purging for the virtual too. Believe me, the purging was the worst part. Basically, I spent the day before the procedure reading, drinking the stuff, and running to the bathroom. You really need to do something, find a gastroenterologist who will pay attention to your concerns. Your problem may be fibroid related or it may not. I assume you are pushing fluids and fiber? P.
