Don't wait til you have a conflict with the Doctor, want a second opinion, or have some other " good reason " to really *need* your paperwork. It will certainlly be harder to get out of them at that point. 2. Instead, right from the very first appointment, let the receptionist know that it is your practice to keep copies of *all* your medical records, and that you would like a zerox copy of the doctor's notes (and anything else), after *each* appointment. 3. Don't leave til you get it.
