Guest guest
Lynn You really ought to consider a UAE. I'm not sure if you are nervous because you have heard bad information about it. I had mine last year primarily because of my urinary problems, which included not being able to pee a few times (when I wasn't going every 15 minutes instead.) What are your objections to it? Whatever case - if you can avoid a hyst that's really your best bet whether you can find a myo doctor or see an IR. Note - last year there were a lot of postings from women who had peeing problems (can't pee being the very worst.) Many had strategies around getting the fibroid to move off the urethra by pushing it manually, or by getting into more of a squatting position in the tub. If you can be successful with that and avoid winding up in the emergency room, you can buy yourself a little time to find the right solution for YOU and not resort to something as radical as a hysterectomy. Pam (& Lynn too of course) There is also a group called 'embo' here on yahoo groups that's devoted to those having, had or considering UAE. You can hear about alot of other women's experience there. I guess about 5-8 women who post have had their UAEs over this past month alone. I had mine 363 days ago and have had complete symptom relief, and it was not hard to get through. There are things that you can do to improve your comfort and reduce anxiety, so I recommend you check that group out. I was back at work after 5 days, exercising in the gym after 6. Most of us who have been through the procedure agree that the worst, the very worst part, is beforehand, when you are a nervous wreck about the whole thing. We've all been through it and are glad to get on the other side of it. The actual procedure is not so bad at all (although the press on this, in particular from many gynos, is very negative and should not be.) feel free to write me directly if you want. bfn laurie g.
