Guest guest
I finally saw the connective tissue specialist, who doesn't think I have to worry about bleeding during surgery, then last Thursday saw a fibroid specialist who, given the bloodwork, doesn't think I necessarily need a hysterectomy but told me it might still be an option depending on location and size of the fibroid. She wants to schedule me for a saline infused sonogram to determine location and size, and in turn surgical options. I talked to her secretary this morning, and was told the soonest they could get me in for the test is June. ARRRRRGH! I decided in December I wanted to have surgery. In January I saw the hematologist; then again in Feb for follow up. It took two months to see the connective tissue person, then another two weeks to see the fibroid gyn. Every appointment leads to another and another, and there's always a 2-week to 2-month delay inbetween; meanwhile the fibroid is getting larger, which can only limit my options for surgery, and I'm on a daily double dose of BCP to keep the bleeding in check. I HATE THIS! --Liz
