Guest guest
> > Carla, are you willing to share with us the names of the medical guests who will be at the MeetUp? Also, I'm not sure I'll be able to make it to the MeetUp, but I was hoping that Carla and some other folks who come in from out-of-town might hang around for the evening. Is that a possibility? I was even hoping we might have some meeting with Carla either a day or two before or after the MeetUp. Are there other folks who can't make it Saturday but would like to try another meeting with Carla? Well, Dr. Stanley West has definitely agreed to attend and an interventional radiologist will also be there. As for my schedule....sorry, but it's booked solid. I'm only in town for a couple of days but have numerous business meetings scheduled which will keep me running. I've blocked out 1-6 on Saturday for the Meetup at the DT/UT Cafe but beyond that, I have other committments in NYC that has me locked in. Sooooooo......I STRONGLY urge any/all of you who can attend this event, to definitely attend it! Also, we need at least 30 people to show up to break even on this. Otherwise, NUFF will end up paying off the caterer out of our limited funds -- reserving the meeting space/food/beverages is *fixed* and not negotiable in price. In addition to our guests, I will also be bringing some of our handouts for everyone, a few door prizes -- including an LL Bean Bag from Biosphere Medical that was donated last week -- and some of the merchandise from the NUFF store... I probably won't be back to NYC for another year or so after this event....so, it's THE event to attend if you live anywhere near NYC!!!! Also, for those of you who have figured out the Meetup site and their messaging board, maybe some of you can look over the list of cities and identify those in the NYC vicinity and post meeting messages to their individual boards about this meetup in NYC??? Anything to get the word out.... See you on Saturday! Carla Dionne
Guest guest
Hi , Please share your " best surgeon " information or key knowlegde in that area and inform the rest of us who these gifted surgeons are. Thanks JanG > Several of you have recently asked how to prevent needing a 2nd, or 3rd myomectomy. Nothing will really prevent it, but having a really good surgeon perform your operation makes it more likely that all the fibroids currently there are removed. Often women here have posted that their doctor removed some of the fibroids, but were unable to remove all of them. I've never heard of that happening with the best surgeons. >
Guest guest
Well I guess isn't keen on revealing her best surgeon info but I'm still interested and waiting for that post. I know I had the best surgeon. Please do not forget that there are women with fibroids that don't cause bleeding,/pain, or disfigurement but can be dangerously blocking other areas of her anatomy from a surgeons view. My sole reason for having a myo had nothing to do with fibroids. I still have a few fibroids but I have my uterus, ovaries, cervix and all that is good in the world because I'm alive and kept my needed parts. Parts I need, parts I expect other women can do without. I'm not at that stage in life. I had a wonderful doctor and consider him to be excellent and the best surgeon for me. My doc was one of 3 who would do my precedure after a most extensive seach. I had huge fibroids. My Dr. who may have left a fibroid or 20 behind may have saved my life. I thank him in my prayers daily. JanG
