Guest guest
Hi all! I lost my job last October because the company I worked for went bankrupt. My insurance ended on January 31st. I signed up for Kid Care health coverage for my children and I. I am just wondering if anyone knows if public aid insurance providers even cover treatments other than a typical hysterectomy. I want a myomectomy sometime in late spring or early summer. I was just diagnosed last month on Janurary 13 with uterine fibroids. It has all been so sad and frustrating for me. It would have been nice to have been diagnosed a year ago when I still had insurance. I have gone to see another doctor who is also recommending a hysterctomy without even telling me there are other options. Any suggestions in this matter would be helpful. Thank you! Guest guest
Kathy, Sorry you find yourself in this position. If you were covered by cobra, you may be able to continue your health coverage through hipaa even though you did not go the full term since your company went under. If you want a myo, I think that the best plan is to find a job with health coverage asap. I am not sure if your situation is such that the size and side effects make it urgent for you, but perhaps you might want to check into some drug alternatives to put off the surgery if this is the case. Drug companies do have programs to provide drugs to the uninsured. I found this info on insurance and fibroids on a site, http://www.hopeforfibroids.org/insurance.html best, suz > Hi all! > I lost my job last October because the company I worked for went > bankrupt.
