bleeding question

Hi,

I have two large fibroids, which until recently have not given me too

much trouble. My question today is regarding changes in bleeding

patterns. For the most part of the last two years my periods have

been heavy & long with very dark blood & clots. Last month I started

with what seemed like pain from an ovarian cyst followed by a dark

brown-black discharge, then got my period, then continued to

spot.......all very dark blood. After that stopped (approx 18 days)

by abdomen became very hard and swollen and quite painful from the

swelling. Two days ago I started by period again (about 10 days

after the last episode) and now it's bright red, thin (almost like

water) and heavy with bad lower abdominal cramps. In the week before

I started with night sweats, hot flashes, etc :-(

Has anyone had this happen to them? Should I worry? Getting into a

doc is all but impossible and I just moved to this area and haven't

established myself yet.

Wondering if the bright red blood could be a problem from the

fibroids (which are not pushed into my uterine cavity.....one's on a

stalk) or if that type of change can happen if my hormones are going

out of whack. I'm 42 and over the last few years have had " hormonal

issues " on and off, just not changes in the bleeding or color of the

blood.
