I am so glad there is a group like this! My name is Ruth, I am 33 yrs

old and have a fibroid that has nestled itself at the top of my

uterus and in the last month doubled in size. From 4cm to 8cm Last

month the doctor was in the wait and see method, after he ordered an

MRI and saw it had grown he immediately scheduled me for a

consultation where we decided to do a myomectomy and I will be going

under on May 26th.

I am very glad we have sources out there online to help us to

discover the truth about these nasty things and educate us. My doctor

has been very supportive and I can only say that I feel lucky as

before I could even ask, he told me that he was going to have a

fertility specialist assist with him on the surgical team. My fibroid

is at a precarious spot, and he is trying to conserve everything to

help me to be able to conceive in the future.

I am looking forward to shorter periods, no more ab pain, bloating

and no more peeing every hour. I had thought I was the unusual girl

with the " humming bird bladder " . Now I know that I am not alone.

I am blessed, I mean BLESSED with a sweet, supportive, caring

husband.

I am currently trying to lower my sugar intake and my caffeine,as

well as work out. Common sense is that muscles heal faster then fat

so I am working out & doing crazy sit ups every day to strengthen

my abs for surgery. Any other helpful advise, stories of pre-op and

post-op?

Thanks to all who posted recovery myo surgery stories....knowledge

takes away the fear!

Ruth
