Guest guest
Geo I have been light sensitive since the late 80's. When I was dx'd with lupus in 1991 I contributed this to that. It did not bother me as much for about 8 years after being treated for lupus which also seemed to have subsided for most part those years. However, when my neuro issues started in 2003 the light sensitivity increased. I have to wear sunglasses outside even on cloudy days. Many times I wear sunglasses that don't have too dark lenses inside esp when in a room with fluroscent type lights. Going from a bright place to darker I have a hard time adjusting. At night I have night lights throughout the house so I don't have to turn lights on if get up in middle of night. If I am trying to walk in the dark esp a new place or one not as familiar as home I am so lost, and even more ataxic. I can't say if my light sensitivity has anything to do with my neuro issues but I definitely have this as an constant issue. marfla Be Blessed Light Sensitivity Anyone ?? > If anyone has noticed since your Symptoms first began that you have > become more sensitive to Bright light .Let me know . Guest guest
hey geo, didn't really have that until last fall when other new things came about. with the new things came migraines and still i cannot be in bright light and wear my goofy fishing hat that covers my eyes when i walk my dogs. i don't have a pair of rx sunglasses so for a while i actually wore a pair of goofy 2 dollar sunglasses over my glasses and the fishin' hat!! i just avoid it and actually the darker it is in the house, the cooler it is, so there is really no good light in the house except in the kitchen and bath.....i don't look upward when those are on. Guest guest
I have'nt had this only since getting my Neurological problem and moreso since. I find as time goes on it seems to get worse i deffinitely need sunglasses when going outside . But no solution for when i get up to go to the bathroom in the night . Only i could turn the light on before entering the bathroom but i dont think that would make Connie very happy . Also when i put our Flag up and look up to see if its all the way i better grab the pole or im going over backwards GEO > > GEO, > > Definitely I have trouble and even with depth perception. Guest guest
Marfla: Seems we have more in common than light sensitivity as I was diagnosed with Lupus about 25 years ago. Mine has been in remission since having my spleen removed about 15 years ago. I have had a lot of trouble with light sensitivity over the last 3-4 years, in fact when I went to the eye specialist he found that I had angle-narrowing glaucoma and operated on me for that the following week. That was about 2 years ago. I also have developed cataracts and am on a waiting list to have them removed. Like you, I don't know if any of this has anything to do with my neurological condition or not. Take care. Guest guest
Hey Jo Guess we do have some things in common. I believe my lupus has been in remission for many years. Although I have had some similar symptoms over the years nothing that I ever needed to seek medical attention. Until the neuro stuff started in 2003. Doesn't seem the lupus is main cause of all the neuro stuff, but at least my neuro/PCP haven't ruled out lupus playing some role in the nerve damage. I have had eye exams by ophthalmologist and optometrist sp? several times over last two years. so far nothing is showing wrong with eyes besides sometimes dry. even my vision hasn't changed in the last 6 or so years. but the light sensitivity has been an issue for me before the lupus dx. some days are worse than others. sunlight is bad, and sometimes indoors i must wear light shaded sunglasses. no one seems to know really why my eyes are this way. so i guess for me nothing to be concerned about since vision hasn't changed. just frustrating to cope with sometimes. i think one day though it will be found related to neuro stuff as i can't imagine it not. seems with all the nerves in our bodies, running around everywhere, thru eyes etc.... if have some nerve damage, central/peripheral nervous system problem, I don't see how its not somehow related. sorta like nerves in other parts are so sensitive to things like touch/heat/cold, that nerves in eyes sensitive to light, blowing air, etc... but who or what am I to say this???? im no doctor and don't play one on TV LOL. best wishes to you and gentle hugs Marla Florida Be Blessed Light Sensitivity Anyone ?? > > > If anyone has noticed since your Symptoms first began that you have > > become more sensitive to Bright light .Let me know .
