My RE Dr Zinaman is conducting the aspronil (fibroid drug) study.

He was pessimistic about it being approved in the near future (he cynically,

and probably correctly, implied that more money is made off myos and hysts so

it wouldn't be a top priority).

However, the next time I saw him he was more optimistic about a drug Pfizer

(I think) may release. He had just been to a conference or something. He did

say however, that this drug would cause SEVERE damage to pregnancy/fetus so that

women who wanted to take it would undergo mandatory tubal ligation!

In short, if/when any of these drugs get approved they will probably be only

for women who do not want any/more children. Women can't be in his study if

they do want to conceive within 2 years. Alas, his study is closed...

Interestingly, the aspornil is very successful. It turns off all

progesterone, adds no hormones, and does nothing with estrogen (shutting off or

adding).

If you do a google search on my Dr's name you should easily find some articles.

Cyndi " too many fibroids to count " in Chicago

(who has just scheduled her myo for 7.19 and will have many questions and

posts as the date nears. One question now: What do you LOL think is the BEST way

for Dr to close myo incision? I will be cut from hip bone to hip bone. )
